Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Is Soundview Sports a competitive sports camp?

A. No. Our focus is on teaching proper skills and sportsmanship to our campers. While our coaching style is comprehensive, we strive to make learning fun and safe.

Q. Does my son/daughter have to be a good athlete to attend Soundview Sports?

A. No. Our campers range in age from 5-14 and have a wide range of skill levels. We make sure that each and every camper improves in all their sports – and has a lot of fun! It is very important that no camper is ever bored or embarrassed.

Q. What differentiates Soundview Sports from other day camps?

A. Our Locations. Manhattanville College in Purchase, N.Y. is a safe convenient location for our outdoor and indoor programs.

Our Management. We are obsessively organized and responsive to our campers and their parents.

Our Staff. Our superb staff consists of accomplished, certified college and high school coaches, each of whom is a specialist in their own sport. They have a supporting crew of student athletes who are acutely aware of their obligation to serve as teacher and role model.

Q. What is your ratio of staff to campers?

A. To maintain our high standards for proper instruction, safety and supervision, we maintain a coach to camper ration of better than one-to-five.

Q. Do campers need to provide their own equipment?

A. While we provide most of the equipment, some sports do require that campers bring their own equipment (i.e. tennis racquet, baseball glove, soccer ball and lacrosse gear). We provide a Soundview Sports bag with name tag, Soundview Sports water bottle and Soundview Sports t-shirt. A full list of equipment requirements is available.

Q. Is Soundview Sports as much fun as a “regular” day camp?

A. We believe it is more fun to master a skill than it is to be just entertained. We also make sure that we are providing a positive, fun and safe environment every single day.

Q. Do you provide lunch?

A. Because we feel strongly that proper nutrition is a vital part of youth sports training, we provide a full nutritionally balance lunch with lots of choices (included in base fee). There are no peanut or tree nut related products served in our dining rooms.
